It’s not everyday that you get asked to photograph a wedding at the St Albans Cathedral. We were very excited at the prospect of our first Abbey wedding when Tom and Ren decided to book us for their big day. In order to get married at the St Albans Abbey you have to have some personal connection to the Cathedral or be located within its very small parish.

We were a little worried that the rules would be very strict and make moving around and capturing the right photos difficult. However, the staff at the Abbey were very friendly and make our jobs incredibly easy.

Ren was getting ready at the Clarion Collection which is located on the St Albans high street and only a short journey to the Cathedral. After the ceremony Tom and Ren held their reception at the Aldwickbury Park Golf Club. The weather was beautiful and sunny and everyone was able to mingle outside whilst waiting to be seated. Ren is originally from Brazil and had a bubbly personality. Tom is a music teacher and very talented. His groomsmen were also involved in music and had written a catchy song about his life experiences full of innuendos and jokes for his best man speech. It was very funny and the best best mans speech we have ever heard.
